my tucson journal: wednesday

wednesday had a similar start to tuesday, up at 7 am to see phil off, then lazed around to catch up on watching project runway. after hitting the pool and eating some leftover pizza for lunch (okay, i think i've had enough pizza now), i was off to visit the mission san xavier del bac, just 15 minutes from my hotel on the closest Indian reservation.

as you can see, the architecture of the mission and art within was quite impressive. it was very peaceful and it reminded me of being in europe. the outside of the mission was equally interesting...

i then visited the arizona-sonora desert museum, almost an outdoor zoo, botanical garden, and museum wrapped up into one. both of these locations were highly recommended in my (most-of-the-time) trusty AAA book. here are the highlights of this out-of-the-ordinary "museum:"

i really felt like a pioneer trekking through the desert on my own. until i saw this, and realized that the real pioneers would be disgusted with all of us.

wildlife photos to come...blogger is acting weird today, so i'll post more tomorrow.
